  • Developed an art therapy program by collaborating with clinical team to identify individuals to benefit from Art Therapy services.

  • Organized community participation in art making projects for SAIC’s annual Art of Connection show as well as the first Art of Friendship Village exhibition.

  • Taught participants quality control of handmade clothing and crafts for sale to the greater Tucson population.

  • Involved participants and volunteers in monthly events and redistribution of donated/ harvested goods.

  • Engaged participants in activities that foster community awareness, build a connection with clients, and encourage participants to share their story with the greater Tucson population.

  • Volunteered after this contract ended with the sewing and crafts classes, harvesting projects and community events such as: Tucson Meet Yourself, the annual Arizona Refugee Resettlement Conference and Tucson Pima Arts Council Open Studio Tour.
